Label TextThis stole was hand-woven using chiengora, yarn spun from dog fur. Gladys and Bill Abbott collected the fur from their Samoyed, Karina. Samoyeds have long undercoats ideal for turning into yarn. So do Chow Chows and Bernese Mountain Dogs. People have been making garments from dog fur for centuries. They are warmer than those made of sheep’s wool.
