Label TextThe Coleman Packing Company was a meat packing plant on the east side of First Street between the CNR and CPR rail lines. It operated from 1926 until it was forced into bankrupty in 1973. A meat packing plant first operated at that location in 1893 as Canadian Packing Company until a fire in 1908. The plant was rebuilt and from 1911 until about 1918, it operated under the name Dominion Abattoir Company.
