Label TextLondon's Kent Brewery was established in 1859. Named the Kent Brewery by 1861, it was named for Kent, England, the location from which the company sourced its hops. (Phillips, 76) (Baker, 14). By 1861, the brewery was also located here on Ann Street. by which point it was situated on Ann Street (London Prototype, 5 March 1861). This image, dated circa 1905, shows the brewery with the alterations and addtions that brewer, Joseph Hamilton added. The Kent Brewery closed around 1916, feeling the effects of Prohibition.
