Label TextGerman immigrant, John Fraleigh, made this ladder-back chair in the 1850s. As with other early industries, Fraleigh's depended on water power. A creek beside his chair-and-table factory in Byron powered his lathe. On the lathe, Fraleigh turned the pieces that make up this chair.
