Label TextThis is a photograph of the staff of W. E. Saunders & Co., which was one of the first large scale pharmaceutical manufacturers in London. It was founded by William Saunders and operated from the 1850s to the 1880s. James E. Keays, who apprenticed with W. E. Saunders beginning in 1885, is second from left in the back row. In 1906, he established Canada Pharmacal to manufacture pharmaceuticals in partnership with J. B. Campbell, M.D.
