Label TextHere you see Londoner Ray Lawson’s court uniform jacket. Ontario’s seventeenth Lieutenant-Governor from 1946 to 1952, Lawson (1886-1980) had the right to wear the civil uniform of the second class at the royal court. The jacket features gold oak leaf embroidery. This embroidery could not measure more than four inches wide at the base of the front or exceed four inches on the cuff. The accompanying hat also indicates rank. It features a double gold bullion loop with an ostrich feather border.
