Label TextThis pocket watch was purchased by William Darling (grandfather of the donor) for his son, Levi (donor’s father) as a birthday present for his 15th birthday. Levi Darling (B. 1885, D. 1972). The watch was given to Bill Darling (donor) for safe-keeping around 1967-68 when Levi went into a nursing home. Before this, Levi Darling lived on the family farm at R.R. 8 Parkhill. It was a mixed farming operation which Levi (as the youngest son) took over from William. Bill Darling lived on the family farm until entering the service during WWII. Bill has been in London since after the war, 1945. In 1900, the watch was purchased from Charlie Swigger (Swagger?).
